Diversinet Announces Partnership with SanDisk to Include MobiSecure'TM' Soft Tokens in TrustedFlash'TM' Cards

- Diversinet's MobiSecure Technology Broadens Capabilities of SanDisk Products To Expand Availability of Mass Market Authentication Solutions -

Diversinet Corp. (OTCBB:DVNTF), a leading provider of mobile-enabled personal authentication and security solutions, today announced an agreement with SanDisk® Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) to include Diversinet's MobiSecure™ soft token on SanDisk's TrustedFlash™ Cards. The solution is part of SanDisk's initiative to enhance the capabilities of its flash cards beyond storage.

"Since many digital devices already have flash memory card slots, the SanDisk TrustedFlash card makes a natural choice for integrating two-factor authentication," says Diversinet President Kashif Hassan. "This significantly broadens the distribution channel for our MobiSecure product while helping SanDisk increase the value of its products."

"SanDisk is pleased to be working with Diversinet to deliver an open-standard authentication solution for the mass market," says Pascal Caillon, SanDisk's Director of Mobile Commerce. "In addition to expanding the capabilities of our TrustedFlash cards, leveraging Diversinet's MobiSecure will help secure the identities and protect the privacy of our customers."

SanDisk's TrustedFlash cards with MobiSecure will provide a flexible and widely-available means to provide strong authentication protection to reduce identity theft for the consumer mass market. MobiSecure soft tokens leverage a user's existing device to generate one-time passwords that reduce identity theft.

All that is necessary to activate the card for strong authentication is for Diversinet's MobiSecure Authentication Service Center (MASC) to provision the card over a mobile network or the Internet. By storing the MobiSecure soft token and credentials on the TrustedFlash card, the user will be able to generate a one-time password on whichever supported device the card is plugged in to. The same soft token will be able to run on the user's mobile phone, laptop computer or PDA.

Diversinet and SanDisk will demonstrate MobiSecure operating on TrustedFlash cards for mobile phones at the CTIA IT & Entertainment trade show in San Francisco, September 27-29, 2005.

As a leading mobile-based personal authentication and security service provider for consumer and enterprise applications, Diversinet provides cost-effective strong authentication products and services that reduce identity theft and improve brand trust. Diversinet's MobiSecure products and services leverage more than 2 billion existing mobile devices and PCs as strong authentication tokens. Diversinet MobiSecure soft tokens and MobiSecure Authentication Service Center are also available on all mobile devices supporting JAVA, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Palm, and RIM operating systems, and personal computers running Microsoft Windows.
