Divestco Inc. Introduces Revolutionary Technique in Seismic Display and Interpretation

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 19, 2005) -

Divestco Inc. (TSX VENTURE:DVT)("Divestco" or the "Company"), Canada's leading geophysical, geological and mapping software and services provider, proudly announces the addition of a revolutionary 2D seismic display and interpretation method to our 3D visualization and interpretation tool, EnvisionVSX.

The new release of EnvisionVSX, now benefits from an innovative way of viewing seismic data. Rather than show seismic data in traditional wiggle trace or variable density formats, the new method depicts seismic as peaks and valleys, complete with lighting effects. A combination of topographical display, lighting, multi-attribute displays, and dynamic displays present seismic data in this unique visual. Furthermore, EnvisionVSX can now be used for dynamic interpretations in conjunction with WinPICS seismic workstation. Explorationists can interpret seismic data in three unique views, allowing them to make the most informed, and therefore the best, decisions on their next play.

The integration of these products radically changes the way Geoscientists have always interpreted, browsed, and viewed seismic information. Not only are Geophysicists presented with a number of seismic interpretation options, but also dynamic access to geological data directly within their seismic workstation through the integration with Divestco's GeoVista data browser.

Shannon Niemi, VP Sales and Marketing for Divestco, commented, "To find reserves where others have walked away, you need to look at things in new ways. EnvisionVSX enhances your creativity with leading edge display techniques that are only available from Divestco."

WinPICS 5.2, GeoVista V4.3, and EnvisionVSX V2.0 were released to the oil and gas industry on August 17, 2005.

Divestco was formed on September 23, 2003 as a result of the amalgamation of International Datashare Corporation and Divestco.com Inc. Divestco is actively involved in the North American oil and gas software and services industry, and markets over 20 separate software applications that are widely used in both North America and international marketplaces. The Company also operates a significant database containing information relevant to oil and gas exploration. Additionally, Divestco has an expanding seismic data library and is the largest broker of seismic data in Canada.
