DND: 400 Tactical Helicopter Squadron Gives Santa's Elves a Lift for Sick Kids

CFB BORDEN, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 8, 2006) - Members of 400 (City of Toronto) Tactical Helicopter Squadron (400 THS) will give Santa's elves a lift to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children for this year's Operation Sick Kids HO HO HO December 13.

A CH-146 Griffon helicopter, nicknamed "Rudolph," will leave Canadian Forces Base Borden at 12 p.m. and travel to Toronto, with 400 THS' Commanding Officer Lieutenant-Colonel Ed Karpetz at the reigns.

Rudolph will land at the hospital helicopter pad carrying six of Santa's elves, a sac-load of toys, books and other donations. Donations for this event were donated by local businesses in Barrie, CFB Borden, Alliston and the GTA.

Special guests will read to the children in the hospital's reading room at 2 p.m.
