DND: Canadian Idol Finalist "Steffi D" and The Central Band of the Canadian Forces Present a Remembrance Week Concert

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 9, 2006) - The Central Band of the Canadian Forces along with The Air Command Pipes & Drums invites residents of the National Capital Region to attend a Remembrance Week concert at the Canadian War Museum, 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa, on Friday November 10th starting at 7pm.

The concert's theme, a "Tribute to the men and women of the Canadian Forces," will commemorate the sacrifices of the men and women who fought or are fighting on behalf of Canada.

The two-hour mix of wartime and more recent music will feature this season's Canadian Idol top 5 finalist "Steffi D." Complimentary admission is available to veterans and their accompanying family members (up to three) and members of the Canadian Forces with identification.

"The Central Band of the Canadian Forces wants to recognize the sacrifices of serving and past veterans who fought to preserve the Canadian way of life. Without them, we would live in a world far different from the one we know today," said Major Gerry Heslip, Commanding Officer and Director of Music of The Central Band of the Canadian Forces.

The admission fee for the general public includes both the concert and entrance into the museum: $10 (adult 18+), senior/student $8, children $6 (ages 3-12) and a family of four $25.
