DNG Technology Utilizes Mushroom Networks' Broadband Bonding™ to Deliver High-Speed Internet Into Rural America

Regional Internet Service Provider Comes to the Aid of Consumers Whose Community Was Denied Fast and Reliable Broadband Service Due to Its Small Size

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - February 2, 2011) - Mushroom Networks, Inc. today announced successful deployment of their Broadband Bonding solution by DNG Technology, a wireless Internet service provider (WISP) serving rural customers in the Midwest region. The deployment demonstrates how Broadband Bonding can be used to deliver low-cost high-speed Internet connectivity into areas large providers deem too small and unprofitable to service.

After repeated requests to a large tier-1 service provider for high-speed broadband access, the provider determined that there was not enough demand in the small town of Clarksville, Missouri to warrant investing in infrastructure necessary to roll out services such as DSL. In an effort to demonstrate that indeed there was demand, DNG Technology purchased a T-1 line from the carrier to be split and shared amongst their clients. Within 30 days, there was a long waiting list and residents began inquiring about other benefits of the Internet offering including voice over IP (VoIP) phone service.

The success of DNG's initial rollout prompted the large service provider to act fast or risk losing not only future broadband opportunities in Clarksville, but their existing phone customers as well. After several years of requests, the provider finally decided to rollout DSL into the area. Although DNG experienced some turnover in the beginning due to under pricing, their first-to-market standing within the community and superior customer service allowed them to retain most of their customers while opening new opportunities via Broadband Bonding technology.

To boost service offerings, DNG Technology incorporated Mushroom Network's TRUFFLE Broadband Bonding device allowing them to purchase several inexpensive DSL lines from the large carrier and combine them with their existing T-1 line and a cable line brought in from a neighboring town. TRUFFLE gives smaller providers the ability to remain competitive by inexpensively attaining "fiber like" speeds by bonding as many as twelve broadband Internet connections of any type, wired or wireless, from multiple sources into a single Internet connection.

"Mushroom Networks' technology has truly allowed us to compete with the proverbial 800 pound gorilla," stated David Colwell, CEO of DNG Technology. "After we built a strong reputation within the community by being the first to deliver high-speed Internet service, competition swooped in trying to take our customers by temporarily under pricing services. Broadband Bonding gave us the ability to use the larger carrier's DSL infrastructure to offer a much better service to the community. Since our initial deployment, DNG has seen a 400 percent growth in subscribers with almost no turnover."

With real-time applications such as video streaming and VoIP dominating the Internet, high-speed broadband has become a must have utility for consumers demanding access to those types of services. Rural areas however often have very limited choices or are left out all together. Broadband Bonding solves these issues by transforming several inexpensive connections of any type into a single large pipe that can be distributed throughout the community.

"Broadband Bonding technology enables aggregation of Internet lines without requiring any carrier coordination as there is not equipment needed in the Telco POP," stated Dr. Cahit Akin, CEO of Mushroom Networks. "Therefore Broadband Bonding gives a smaller ISP a solid weapon for remaining extremely competitive and helps deliver 21st century broadband services to remote areas throughout the country."
