Doc Circuit Montreal Supports New Talent

MONTREAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 5, 2011) - Doc Circuit Montreal is proud to support new talent by offering emerging producers three grants as well as a new networking activity for up-and-coming directors to present their documentary projects. In doing so, Doc Circuit Montreal affirms its commitment to a new generation of directors and producers by giving them an opportunity to get an inside look at the specific dynamics of the documentary industry and a chance to update their skills by interacting with industry professionals.

Since its beginnings in 2004, Doc Circuit Montreal has positioned itself as the flagship event of the Quebec documentary industry by bringing together over 300 professionals and decision-makers from documentary-making circles for three days every year.

One-on-One for the up-and-comers

One-on-One for the up-and-comers gives emerging directors an opportunity to meet with established producers in the industry. Through this new initiative, the next generation will learn more about the realities, challenges and changing perspectives in the documentary industry while encouraging the creation of a professional network. The activity will take place on November 16, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be followed by lunch.

This activity is supported by Forum jeunesse de l'île de Montréal and Conseil des arts de Montréal, with its program Outiller la relève artistique montréalaise (ORAM).

Grants for Emerging Producers

Doc Circuit Montreal offers three grants to up-and-coming producers, giving them an all-access pass (values of $225) to the 7th edition of the market, as well a mentoring meeting with an established producer from the documentary industry.
