WHAT:   "Every Child, Every Ride" Education Campaign Kick Off and Child
        Safety Seat Inspection
          --  The Children and Families Commission of Orange County has
              partnered with the Automobile Club of Southern California
              on a community education campaign on child passenger safety.
          --  The "Every Child, Every Ride" education campaign launches
              with a child safety seat inspection event on Sept. 23 to
              observe National Child Passenger Safety Week
              (September 21-27, 2008).
          --  The goal of the community education campaign is to educate
              parents on child passenger safety, teach them correct and
              consistent safety seat use and reduce motor-vehicle
              fatalities and injuries to children.

SEE:    Brief Remarks: Key local child passenger safety advocates discuss
        the No. 1 preventable cause of child death and permanent disability
        - car crashes - and new community education campaign designed to
        educate parents on child passenger safety. Safety advocates also
        will discuss car seat usage today, seat effectiveness, and injury
        and fatality statistics.

        Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection: Four inspection stations
        with certified child passenger safety seat inspectors helping
        families with proper child safety seat installation. Inspectors
        are English, Spanish and Vietnamese speakers.
