Doggie Day Care Available in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO--(Marketwire - Aug 31, 2011) - Doggie Day Care is one of the many services offered at Northwest Animal Hospital and Pet Care Center. According to the hospital, the Doggie Day Care service provides a monitored and secure environment where canines can stay or play for the entire day. The Colorado Springs Doggie Day Care service offers an alternative to leaving a pet home alone or in a kennel for extended hours. Other boarding options at the pet hospital include pet boarding for extended stays, while the dog boarding in Doggie Day Care is typically for the daytime hours when an owner is at work. The Day Care program includes activities and exercise for the canines to help keep them occupied.

"The last thing hard-working pet owners need is to come home and find their homes destroyed or pets injured from rambunctious behavior, stemming from being left alone for long periods of time," said veterinarian Dr. John H. Sudduth, owner and director of Northwest Animal Hospital and Pet Care Center. "Therefore, we incorporated Doggie Day Care into our wide range of services to provide dogs with a safe environment and their owners with a peace of mind."

Doggie Day Care at the pet hospital provides dog kennels as well as a large indoor area where dogs can play. The facilities also offer an outdoor exercise yard for pets to use, either individually or in groups, with a seasonally appropriate outdoor pool and spacious area for off-leash activities. The indoor and outdoor areas are not limited for use by the Doggie Day Care canines, but they are also available for use by other dogs in the pet boarding facilities.

The areas are constantly monitored by the Colorado Springs animal hospital staff, and the hospital's team of veterinarians is on the premises during regular business hours. Doggie Day Care and other services are available seven days a week: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday; 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday; and 9 a.m. to noon, Sunday.

Other pet boarding areas at the hospital are available for extended stays with separate cat and dog boarding facilities. Northwest Animal Hospital and Pet Care Center also offers boarding for medical issues, such as after a surgery or for pets that require extended treatment from the veterinarians.

Owners that use the cat and dog boarding facilities at the vet center or enroll their dog in day care have access to the additional services the veterinarians offer, such as rabies shots and other vaccinations, wellness exams and cat and dog grooming services.

"Americans are working longer and harder than ever before, which often means pets are left home alone for excessive stretches of time," Dr. Sudduth said. "Our Doggie Day Care can be a welcome relief to pet owners and their pets, providing a secure and safe environment where pets are monitored, kept active and are not forced to endure long hours alone where their boredom or fear can get them into trouble."
