Doghouse Records Signs Musical Artist Mansions
Four Track EP Out June, Upcoming Spring Tour and Full Length Set for Fall Release
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 20, 2008) - Dave Conway of New York-based record label
Doghouse Records signs Mansions, the brainchild of recording artist
Christopher Browder. After hearing Mansions, Conway drove eight hours to
meet him and to ask him to join the label, which is home to artists: Say
Anything, The Honorary Title and Limbeck.
"I popped in homemade recordings of this thing called Mansions, not
expecting much," said Conway. "Next thing I knew I found myself driving
eight hours to Kentucky to meet up with Christopher and knew right away I
wanted to do this project with him."
The prolific singing and songwriting of Mansions, already named by
Alternative Press magazine as, one of the "100 Bands You Need To Know" --
whose loyal following has taken him to New York's CMJ music festival in
2007 as well as this year's SXSW -- is set to release his self-titled EP in
June through Doghouse. This will be the first glimpse of Mansions' range
from gentle musings to stronger up-tempo tracks for the U.S. to hear. There
will also be an online tee-shirt giveaway with purchase of the 4-track EP,
which will also contain bonus acoustic tracks -- one of Christopher's major
fortes.
Christopher, a Kentucky native, sought outside the local musicians of his
town and grew up instead on the music of Nick Drake, The Get Up Kids, Ryan
Adams, Elliott Smith and Nirvana. With this musical background he was
joined by Producer Mike Sapone (Brand New, Public Enemy and Taking Back
Sunday) in Long Island, NY where he worked on tracks for the upcoming EP
and also for his forthcoming full-length record, which is set for a Fall
release.
Please be on the lookout for Mansions as they tour the U.S. with WEATHERBOX
and Person L beginning in Spring, where alongside a growing following, you
are sure to enjoy what you see & hear.
Tour Dates to be announced soon!
