Dolly Appoints Kristin Smith as COO

Former Code Fellows CEO and zulily Vice President to Streamline Operations for Strategic National Growth

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Oct 22, 2015) - Dolly, the leading peer-to-peer app that helps people and businesses move, haul and deliver just about anything, announced that it has appointed Kristin Smith as Chief Operations Officer.

Smith will be responsible for streamlining Dolly's operations and logistics for Chicago and Seattle as well as planning for expansion into additional markets.

Prior to her appointment, Smith was the CEO of Code Fellows, a digital trade school for software developers. She also served as Vice President of Operations at zulily where she led the teams and implemented the systems that helped develop and scale critical supply chain, logistics, and fulfillment processes. Prior to zulily, she held several leadership positions during her eight years at, most recently serving as Senior Manager of Product Management, Site Merchandising, and the Design teams for Amazon MP3 and Amazon Cloud Player.

Smith received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in industrial engineering & operations research from the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan. She also received a Master's degree in civil and environmental engineering from MIT and a Master's degree in business administration from MIT's Sloan School of Management through the Leaders for Global Operations program.

Smith has served on and led several non-profit boards of directors. She is an active volunteer on several advisory boards and believes in the importance of helping others be successful through education and mentoring. Smith is currently a mentor at TechStars, a board member at the Ada Developers Academy, and heads the Alumni Board for the Leaders for Global Operations at MIT.
