DonorNation's School Volunteer of the Year to Be Announced at June 19 Awards Ceremony

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 5, 2013) -  DonorNation's selection committee was hard at work Monday morning diving headfirst into the most difficult task of our award program -- narrowing down our list of deserving school volunteers to be named DonorNation's School Volunteers of the Year.

We could not help but be inspired reading the amazing profiles of our generous volunteer nominees -- the community service that they perform by constantly giving their precious time, ceaseless energy and the personal funds that they donate, to help their schools achieve high academic standards, improve parent and teacher participation, and build a campus community centered on the bright young minds of tomorrow.

Although all of the school volunteers are deserving of recognition, our selection committee had the difficult task of choosing just three winners and three honorable mentions for this year's award. The grand prize winner, the first and second runner-ups, along with the three honorable mentions, will receive valuable prizes courtesy of award sponsors Sprouts Farmers Market and La Jolla Playhouse. DonorNation will be rewarding the prize winners' respective schools with valuable cash prizes.

We would like to thank our honorable committee members Michelle Anderson, Heather Boney, Brad Daluiso, Teresa Drew, Michael Rosenberg, Mark Sisson and Tina Mickelson for their time, thoughtful and enlightened discussion and selection of the most deserving school volunteer award winners in this year's program.

The winners will be announced at our award ceremony on Wednesday, June 19.
