Don't Get Hosed! Avoid Fuel Surcharges

Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, Lifestyle Editor, Travel/Tourism Editor TORONTO/ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - July 6, 2005) - An increase in fuel surcharges on international flights was announced today by three major Canadian tour operators. Signature Vacations, World of Vacations & Transat Holidays will incorporate increases into their fares.

Effective July 11th 2005, all flights to the Caribbean and Mexico by Signature Vacations will have an additional surcharge of $15 round trip up to October 31st, 2005.

World of Vacations & Transat Holidays has announced July 25 all flights between Canada and Britain and Europe will be surcharged an additional $16 round trip from all Canadian gateways.

Fuel is the second largest operating cost to airlines.

For families with children it could amount to a hefty sum when planning a holiday. "To help alleviate mounting costs, our recommendation is to book now! Traditionally, once a major tour operator imposes new surcharges in relation to fuel, other airlines tend to follow suit." states Jonathan Carroll, President,
