DoubleHorn's R&D Lead Team Wins Hackathon Event

Team to Pitch Prototype to Veterans Affairs and IBM

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - March 01, 2016) - DoubleHorn, Austin-based leading Cloud Services Brokerage provider, has announced that its R&D leader, Matt Harris with his team of four received top honors at the inaugural U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) public-private partnership Hackathon on brain health. The event took place at Austin's Capital Factory February 19-21.

The goal of the event, held simultaneously in Austin and San Francisco, was the development of brain health innovations for veterans experiencing injuries spanning a spectrum of challenges from mild traumatic brain health injury (mTBI) to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The hackathon was open to a wide range of participants including developers, designers, researchers, clinicians and others with the hope of finding new methods to solve these serious issues.

"We focused our development of a marketplace to connect veterans with service providers, creating safe communities for their support and personal growth," said Matt Harris.

A panel of VA and technology experts, as well as veterans and their caregivers, selected the three top prototypes developed at the event. Next month, the team looks forward to an invitation to Washington, DC to demonstrate their innovation at the VA's Brain Trust Innovation Showcase.

"We are proud of what Matt and his team were able to achieve to support Veterans. As a public- sector-focused Cloud Services Company, we are always striving to support those who taken on missions here and abroad to address the most pressing concerns of our country," said Tab Schadt, CEO of DoubleHorn.
