Doug Powell Named Media Director for PJA Advertising and Marketing

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 13, 2009) - PJA Advertising and Marketing, BtoB Magazine's 2008 Agency of the Year, names former Director of Media Services at Swirl Advertising, Doug Powell, as Media Director for both PJA's East and West Coast operations, according to agency President, Mike O'Toole. Mr. Powell, who will work from PJA's San Francisco office, will immediately assume the responsibility for all media planning and buying for the agency.

Prior to joining PJA, Mr. Powell was Director of Media Services at Swirl where he oversaw all of the agency's integrated media planning efforts and helped lead clients like AARP-Dental, Lexar and the Oakland Raiders into the emerging applications of social media and viral word-of-mouth marketing. He spent two years as Chief Integrator at Maiden Lane working with their clients Del Monte, Fireman's Fund and Fisher-Price. Both agencies are in San Francisco.

Mr. Powell served as Media Director at Tonic360 / JWT and its predecessor JWT & Tonic where he led the global and strategic media direction for Sun Microsystems. Eight years were spent at Foote Cone Belding where Mr. Powell rose to Media Director and was responsible for brands like Levi's Jeans, Coors, Kimberly-Clark and Taco Bell.
