PEARL RIVER, NY--(Marketwire - May 24, 2010) - Arthur T. Dougherty has been elected a member of the U.S. RE Corporation Board of Directors, Tal P. Piccione, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer announced.
Dougherty is a Senior Vice President of U.S. RE where he has major responsibility within the national brokerage team. He joined the Company in 2007 after six years at Benfield, Inc. where he was responsible for production, management, and placement of Treaty Reinsurance.
"Art Dougherty has contributed significantly to U.S. RE's activities over the past three years and will play an important role as a member of the Board," Piccione said.
Prior to joining Benfield, Dougherty spent 20 years at Aon Re and predecessor companies where he rose from an entry level accountant to Senior Vice President. In 1990, he established Aon Re's New York office.
Dougherty began his career in the management training program at American Re after graduating from St. John's University with a B.S. degree in accounting.
