Exhibition Premieres at ArtWeek Boston


NATICK, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 19, 2013) - Dover Rug & Home, offering the largest selection of fine floor coverings and window treatments in New England, is pleased to announce its presentation of The Colors of India, a production celebrating culture and the intricate art of rug making. As part of ArtWeek Boston, the exhibition, presentation and reception opens at the American Islamic Congress, 38 Newbury Street, Boston on Saturday, September 28 followed by additional presentations Tuesday, October 1 and Thursday, October 3. All take place 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

This cultural experience offers guests a rare glimpse into the world of rug-making, with a showing of the highly praised documentary Colors of India. Mahmud Jafri, CEO of Dover Rug & Home will be in attendance and available for a Q&A after the showing. One-of-a-kind rugs will be displayed in the Gallery for viewing. Traditional Indian food, beverages and music will be available for guests throughout the night. All guests also receive a free rug appraisal, compliments of Dover Rug & Home, as well as a $100 Dover Rug & Home gift certificate, good towards a purchase of $1,000 or more. Copies of Colors of India will also be for sale.

Rugs will remain displayed in the Gallery throughout October and available for purchase. "We are very excited to be participating in ArtWeek Boston," notes Mr. Jafri. "It is a great celebration of various cultures and art and we are particularly excited that our exhibit of exquisite rugs from around the world will be on display for so many to admire."

Mr. Jafri is the recipient of the 2013 Immigrant Entrepreneur Award for "Outstanding Neighborhood Business" by the Immigrant Learning Center. He has been appointed by Governor Deval Patrick to his Advisory Council on Immigrants and Refugees, and is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), International Furnishing and Design Association (IFDA), and World Floor Covering Association. Dover Rug & Home is the recipient of the 2011"Best of" Boston Home award. The company is consistently recognized for its philanthropy, as it supports over 50 charitable organizations on a regular basis.

The Colors of India presentation and opening events -- taking place Saturday, September 28th, Tuesday, October 1st and Thursday, October 3rd from 6:30 - 9:00PM are free and open to the public.
