The Dow Chemical Company Wins a Frost & Sullivan Manufacturing Leadership Award for NWA Focus EMI

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - Mar 18, 2015) - Long-time Northwest Analytics, Inc. customer, The Dow Chemical Company, continues to fill their awards cabinet with the announcement of the Frost & Sullivan Manufacturing Leadership Council's 2015 awards. Dow was awarded a Manufacturing Leadership Award for "Big Data & Advanced Analytics Leadership" for their 'Real-time Process Support with Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence (EMI) project, using Northwest Analytics' NWA Focus EMI®

In its eleventh year, the ML Awards recognizes world-class manufacturing companies and individuals that are shaping the future of global manufacturing. The recipients of the ML Awards have distinguished themselves by embracing breakthrough innovation and enabling their companies to anticipate and respond to customers and suppliers with unmatched agility.

A true champion of manufacturing intelligence, Lloyd Colegrove, director of data services and fundamental problem solving for The Dow Chemical Company is behind the 'Real-time Process Support with EMI" initiative for Dow. This initiative allows for the application of new analytics and decision making schemes by integrating multiple data sources and applying leading edge data analytics to predict and prevent issues before they become critical, saving Dow a significant amount of money.

"We at Northwest Analytics are very pleased that Lloyd and his team at Data Services are being acknowledged by Frost & Sullivan's Manufacturing Council," said Northwest Analytics Chief Executive Officer Bob Ward. "It is gratifying to see Dow's efforts to increase their competitiveness and productivity, through the use of both global data visibility and real time analytics, recognized by their peers. We appreciate Dow Chemical's collaboration on the deployment of NWA Focus EMI."

"The Dow Chemical Company continually strives to lead the industry in leveraging our data through technology to deliver real value to the organization," noted Mr. Colegrove. "By using NWA Focus EMI to aggregate and access data from disparate manufacturing data sources in conjunction with real-time manufacturing analytics, we are now able to anticipate and address potential issues before they impact final product quality and in doing so are delivering significant annual plant savings in each plant where implementation has taken place."

ML Award winners and their technology partners will be honored in June at a gala celebration that concludes the Manufacturing Leadership Summit.
