Downtown Baltimore Hotel Recognized for Outstanding Meetings and Events

Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Honored for Event Service, Spaces and Catering

BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwired - Dec 30, 2013) - While it's an honor just to be nominated, winning is pretty great, too. This year, the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront got that winning feeling not just once, but three times, bringing home awards from Meetings and Conventions and Meetings Focus magazines for its outstanding downtown Baltimore hotel meetings and events.

The international readers of Meetings and Conventions magazine nominated and elected this Baltimore Inner Harbor hotel with both the Gold Key and Gold Platter awards. Gold Keys are given to the best international meeting properties based on their professionalism and quality of the property. This hotel was among 150 other domestic and international winners this year. Readers also recognized the property's food and beverage offerings with the Gold Platter award, honoring top catering departments based on their creativity and culinary experience.

Professional meeting planners honored this East Harbor hotel with the Best of the East award from Meetings Focus. Given to only 50 east coast properties, this annual award is based on meeting space, guest rooms, guest services and amenities, food and beverage service, high-tech services, recreational facilities, efficiency and helpfulness of the staff, and overall value and experience.

"We are thrilled that Waterfront has been honored with not one, but three awards this year," Julie Codus, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, says. "We are committed to providing superior service, culinary experiences and amenities to complement the unique and exquisite meeting space that we offer. Winning these awards is a true testament of the work our staff puts forth every day."

Going above and beyond is part of what makes this hotel a favorite with meeting planners. Recently, the hotel's pastry team created a 6-foot-tall yellow and chocolate cake for a corporate anniversary event, and it was also selected as a pilot location for Marriott's innovative Red Coat Direct™ meeting services app, which allows users to make requests before and during a meeting, with the touch of a button on their web-enabled device.
