Downtown Calgary Hotel Welcomes New Director of Operations - Food & Beverage

Lukas Campestrini's Global Background and Industry Expertise Make Him the Toast of the Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - Aug 1, 2014) - Travelers eager for a taste of something exquisite, both literally and metaphorically, have long appreciated the amenities of the Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel. From its spacious guest rooms (which are among the largest in Calgary), to its culinary offerings both on and off property, the hotel knows how to whet its guests' appetites. And with the arrival of Lukas Campestrini, the new Director of Operations - Food & Beverage, this property is poised to expand its menu of attractions in exciting new ways.

Mr. Campestrini assumed his position on July 14, 2014 and immediately set to work on a full evaluation of the hotel's current F&B operations. Considering that the property not only manages its own downtown Calgary restaurant, Traders Grill, but also oversees the F&B operations at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC), this is no small task.

Yet the timing couldn't be better. Mr. Campestrini's arrival coincides with the CTCC's 40th birthday this year. And with the property anticipating its own imminent 40th anniversary, there's never been a better time for Mr. Campestrini to infuse this icon among Calgary luxury hotels with some of his trademark panache.

While Mr. Campestrini originally hails from Italy, his work has taken him around Europe over the past 16 years. Fluent in English, Italian and German, Mr. Campestrini most recently lived and worked in the United Kingdom. He spent three years as the Food & Beverage Manager at the London Marriott Hotel West India Quay before joining the Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club as the Director of Food and Beverage.

As Mr. Campestrini brings his extensive experience to bear on the hotel's catering partnerships and restaurants in Calgary, the future looks increasingly tantalizing. There are many exciting possibilities ahead for the hotel and Mr. Campestrini's arrival is simply the first of such changes that the property is cooking up to continue its tradition of excellence among Calgary hotels.
