DPAS Integrates Proven US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Clinical Quality Reports for Long Term Nursing Care

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the lead Federal agency charged with improving the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. Integrating clinical work by two of the industry leading experts in Nursing Home Clinical Care: Siobhan Sharkey, Managing Director and Principal of Health Management Strategies; and Sandra Hudak, Project Director for several AHRQ-funded projects integrating Health Information Technology (HIT) and quality improvement in nursing homes, Patient Access Solutions has launched this LTNC program aggressively into the market. The system has been installed in Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Rutland Nursing Home, both in New York, via grants from New York State Department of Health. The On-Time Quality Improvement for Long-Term Care model integrates clinical guidelines and clinical information into each nursing home's daily routines and processes for assessment, care planning, care delivery, communication and reassessment using health information technology. It facilitates timely information flow that informs weekly monitoring of resident status and on-going care planning.
