Dr. Amir Bajoghli Recognized by Washington Nationals Baseball Team During a Pregame Ceremony on Nationals Field

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - April 18, 2016) - During a pregame ceremony at the Nationals Field, Dr. Bajoghli was recognized by the Washington Nationals Baseball Team for his volunteer work, performing skin cancer screenings for the team. The screening sessions lead to an early diagnosis of malignant melanoma on one of the team members.

Dr. Amir Bajoghli is honored by the recognition and remains dedicated to helping individuals maintain their health through early skin cancer detection and proper care and treatment. As an avid fan of baseball himself, Dr. Bajoghli enjoys going to games and knows that using sunscreen is a precautionary measure that not only protects the skin but also promotes health.

According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 76,000 cases of malignant melanoma are diagnosed each year in the United States, which leads to over 10,000 casualties. This makes malignant melanoma the deadliest skin cancer. Regular screenings and early detection make a significant difference; when caught early melanoma is 100% curable.

Since 2001, Amir Bajoghli, MD has been active in the practice of dermatology, after completing his training in dermatology and Mohs surgery. He was named Top Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon in the Washingtonian Magazine from 2005 - 2012, as well as the Northern VA magazine.

Dr. Bajoghli is board certified in dermatology and has a flourishing private practice with offices in McLean and Woodbridge. Dr. Bajoghli has been involved in teaching medical students and residents at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Georgetown University, and George Washington University Schools of Medicine.
