Dr. Brad Robinson Announces Success Treating Sports Injury Patients

NORFOLK, VA--(Marketwire - Nov 27, 2011) - Dr. Brad Robinson of Wards Corner Chiropractic announced his success treating sports injury patients, including members of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team. As a chiropractor with Tampa Bay's AHL affiliate in Norfolk, Dr. Robinson also treated Tampa Bay player Mattias Ritola. Ritola suffered from dizziness, headaches and ringing in the right ear and believed that his career as a hockey player might be over. Dr. Robinson adjusted his neck, relieving pressure on the nerves, which corrected the underlying condition causing Ritola's symptoms.

"When I first met Mattias, he was overwhelmed by chronic headaches and dizziness," said Norfolk chiropractor Dr. Robinson. "I took a look at his neck, and it was clear that an injury had led to a major muscle spasm on the right side. Anytime there is tension on one side of the body, it means that the spine is distorted and out of alignment."

Dr. Robinson attributes Mattias' misalignment to the natural injuries that occur while playing hockey. Dr. Robinson restored alignment to the cervical spine, relieving pressure on the nearby nerves. Mattias no longer suffers from headaches, dizziness or ringing in his ear and is now able to play hockey.

"This is just one example of how chiropractic care can make a tremendous difference for patients and provide natural pain management," said Dr. Robinson. "Whether you are a professional athlete or a casual runner, an injury can cause trauma to the musculoskeletal system and cause shoulder pain, neck pain, back pain and other problems that can prevent individuals from leading an active life."

Dr. Brad Robinson received the "Best of Norfolk" chiropractor award from the Virginian-Pilot in 2011. Dr. Robinson and his associate, Dr. David Milot, are also the official chiropractors for the Norfolk Admirals Hockey Team.

"Norfolk patients choose our practice because our approach to care is different from traditional medical care," said Dr. Robinson. "As a chiropractor, I focus on the underlying cause for pain and injury, rather than prescribing medication. When a vertebra is out of place or back muscle is strained, this injury can have profound effects on the body. Natural treatments, like adjustments, are essential to providing long-lasting pain relief."
