Dr. David Acheson Joins SafetyChain Software Board of Directors

SAN RAFAEL, CA--(Marketwire - August 22, 2012) -  SafetyChain Software - innovators of realtime food safety chain management solutions that help companies manage regulatory, non-regulatory and customer-driven safety and quality compliance along their entire supply chains - is very pleased to announce that Dr. David Acheson has joined its Board of Directors.

Dr. Acheson is a partner at Leavitt Partners and oversees its Food and Import Safety practice. Prior to joining Leavitt, he served as Chief Medical Officer of the FDA, Associate Commissioner for Foods at the FDA, Chief Medical Officer at the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service and Chief Medical Officer at the FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). He is also a frequent author and speaker in the food safety and quality assurance community.
