Dr. Glenn Feltham Appointed Member of Standards Council of Canada


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 20, 2013) - The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Industry, Minister of State (Agriculture) and Minister responsible for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), today announced the appointment of Dr. Glenn Feltham as a member of the Council.

"With an extensive background in law, finance and taxation, teaching, and academic administration, Dr. Feltham will bring a unique perspective to the work of the Standards Council of Canada," said Minister Paradis. "I am pleased to welcome him as the newest member of SCC's Governing Council."

Currently, Dr. Feltham is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He previously held senior educational positions with the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, the College of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan, and the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Prior to joining SCC, Dr. Feltham sat on several boards of directors and foundations, holding the Chair position on the Board of Trustees for the Certified Management Accountants Canada Research Foundation and the Board for Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, as well as being a Board Member and Chair of its Audit Committee.

Dr. Feltham holds a doctorate from the University of Waterloo's School of Accounting and Finance, a law degree from Queen's University, a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Montana, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta. He is a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and a Certified Management Accountant. His work has been published extensively in academic and professional journals, reviews, and other educational materials.
