Dr. Ishuing Wu to Join Board of Directors of Strategic Nevada Resources

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 27, 2006) - Mr. Neil Linder President of Strategic Nevada Resources (TSX VENTURE:SNS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ishuing Wu has agreed to become a member of the Company's Board of Directors.

Dr. Wu has more than thirty years experience in mineral exploration management and extensive field experience with such companies as Chevron Resources, where he served as U.S. exploration manager; Exxon Minerals, Kennecott Exploration, Great Wall Gold Corporation and General Minerals Corp. In his numerous capacities he has been responsible for developing and managing exploration projects and Joint Venture opportunities in the U.S.A., Chile, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Fiji, China and Taiwan. He currently serves as a Director of High Plains Uranium and Chairman of the Board of Trend Mining Company.

He discovered the Southern Cross-North Star gold deposit in Montana, Midas Chevron Zone in Nevada, West Towerbeck gold deposit in China, and two Platinum Group Metals layers in the Lake Owen Layered Intrusion in Wyoming.

Dr. Wu has extensive research experience and knowledge of the geochemical processes involved in the formation of high- grade silver occurrences in tetrahedrite and galena ores that are the significant ore types that have yielded the vast majority of silver production in THE SILVER VALLEY/Coeur d'Alene Idaho.

Between 1972 and 1974 at Cerro de Pasco and Cia de Minas Buenaventura, Peru. He completed a Ph.D. research program at Harvard, in which he conducted underground and surface mapping and sampling of Ag-Cu-Pb-Zn hydrothermal veins and Mantos in the Casapalca and the Huachocolpa Districts and conducted a new, innovative and extensive electron microprobe study that led to the discovery of systemic zoning in both time and space of tetrahedrite geochemistry and defined district-size mineral zoning pertinent to exploration and mining. Similar zoning and time-space geochemical patterns were subsequently recognized in other mining districts (in Mexico and the Coeur d' Alene District, Idaho, USA) and in two Ph.D. studies at Harvard.

Dr. Wu holds a M.A. (1971) and Ph.D. (1975) in economic geology from Harvard University, where he was a Teaching Fellow in Geology from 1971 to 1973. He is also a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists.

He has written or co-written twelve published studies and articles in his 30 years as a geologist and researcher.

On December 12, 2006, the Company announced it had secured the right to purchase the Crescent Mine in the Coeur d' Alene mining district for $650,000 USD.

The Crescent Mine is a historic high-grade silver producer. From 1917-1982 the property produced 25 million ounces of Silver at an average grade of 27.3 ounces per ton. Prior to its last shut down in the 80's, previous operators of the Crescent Mine reported over 9 million ounces of silver resources at an average grade of 18 ounces per ton.

The property lies between two world-class Silver producers. The Sunshine mine which has produced more than 300 million ounces of Silver and the Bunker Hill mine, which has produced over 150 million ounces of Silver. The Coeur d' Alene district is the only known mining district in North America to have produced over 1 billion ounces of silver.
