Dr. Patricia Broderick of Bronx, New York, Recognized by the International Assoc. of Who's Who for Exemplary Achievements in the Field of Medicine

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Mar 24, 2016) - Dr. Patricia Broderick serves as a Medical Professor in Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience and is Course Director in Pharmacology for the Physician's Assistant Program at the City University of New York School of Medicine; Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at City College. Dr. Broderick is also part of the Doctoral Faculty in Biology (Neuroscience) at the City University of New York Graduate School. Additionally, she serves as an Adjunct Professor in Neurology at the NYU Langone Medical Center and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. In 2000, Dr. Patricia Broderick established the Broderick Brain Foundation, which promotes neuroscience education and research while encouraging and supporting those exploring and expanding medical science boundaries. She is also an author, lecturer, researcher and the inventor of the BRODERICK PROBE®.

With an impressive educational background, Dr. Patricia Broderick earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Continuing with her education, she earned a Master of Science Degree in Biology from Fordham University and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from St. John's University. She has also completed Postdoctoral and Research Associate work at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Cornell University Medical School.

It is difficult to ascertain where to begin when describing such a uniquely accomplished individual such as Dr. Patricia Broderick. She began her career as a Senior Scientist at USV Pharmaceutical (1979-1982), before becoming Scientific Consultant and Research Investigator at Pharmacia Upjohn Pharmaceuticals Company (1982-1988). She then took the position that she has held for the last 29 plus years as Medical Professor in Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, CCNY, City University of New York School of Medicine. She is also an accomplished author, recently finishing her book, Neuroimaging, Sensing Biochemistry in the Brain, which is being published by Pan Stanford Publishing Pte Ltd., Singapore.

After many years of research and study, she has invented the BRODERICK PROBE® biosensors and related biotechnologies. The BRODERICK PROBE®, named for her father, is a diagnostic biomedical device that sends neurotransmitter images in real time from the brain during live movement and is able to video track the brain in order to individually and uniquely design a patient's treatment. This invention has become an essential tool in the study of treatment options for neurological degenerative diseases and drug addictions. The probe uses a series of biosensors for this unique type of Neuromolecular Imaging Technique (NMI).

True to her devoted personality, Dr. Patricia Broderick has also co-founded, with Canadian Stephen Jones, Ph.D., EMBA, a new nanotechnology company called Eazysense Nanotechnologies Inc. This New York incorporated company was established in order to make this unique brain nanobiosensor available and affordable for healthcare professionals and students on a global scale.

In addition to her research and foundation endeavors, Dr. Patricia Broderick shares her unique and significant education, expertise and skills in the educational arena (as previously stated) as well as being one of the most sought-after lecturers and symposium leaders throughout the country.

Further tapping into the pulse of the field, Dr. Patricia Broderick is a member of: The Society for Neuroscience; the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapies; the Association for Women in Science; the Electrochemical Society; and the American Epilepsy Society. Additionally, she is a Member of the Board, Sensors; Member of the Board, Biosensors (Basel, Switzerland and Beijing, China), The Journal of Neural Transmission; Member of the Board and Field Editor (Heidelberg, Germany), The Journal of Caffeine Research; former Member of the Board, Editor-in-Chief (New York, USA), The Journal of Biochips and Tissue Chips; Member of the Board and Editor-in-Chief (Henderson, Nevada, USA), Advisory Board, de Gruyters Open Access Chemical Sensors; Member of the Editorial Board, and E Chronicon Neurology and E Chronicon Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Patricia Broderick has received numerous honors and awards: St. Thomas Aquinas College, New York, Magna Cum Laude, Teacher Leadership Award; New York University, Research Fellowship; Nathan Kline Psychiatric Institute, Teaching Fellowship; St. John's University, Rho Chi National Pharmaceutical Honor Society; St. John's University, Milton Rosenbaum Award from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine - Montefiore Medical Center; the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Advanced Biomedical Studies Certificate; City College of New York, Faculty Senate Committee on Research and Publication Award; Association of Women in Science, Outstanding Woman Scientist Award; and Sigma Xi Research Honor Society. Additionally, Dr. Broderick has been an invited speaker at the International Congress and Exhibition on Biosensors and Bioelectronics: Analyzing Novel Approaches to Biosensors and Bioelectronics, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With an impressive educational background, countless hours of research, the years spent educating and mentoring others, one obtains a mere glimpse of Dr. Patricia Broderick's dedication to the well-being of her patients, her students and her commitment to the study and exploration of the brain, its functionalities, and its limitless possibilities.
