NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Nov 3, 2015) - Dr. Rubin Cooper is Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at The Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, Director of the Pediatric Cardiovascular Service Line at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and a Professor of Pediatrics at Hofstra North Shore/LIJ School of Medicine.

Dr. Cooper attended Yeshiva University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. Upon graduation from Yeshiva, he received his medical degree from New York Medical College. His pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship were at the University of Rochester, School of Medicine, Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Cooper holds New York State and Texas State Medical Licenses.

Dr. Rubin Cooper has been an outstanding, well-regarded physician for over 40 years with expertise in pediatric cardiology, congenital, rheumatic and Kawasaki Heart Disease, and clinical research. F or over 5 years, Dr. Cooper has been the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at the Children's Heart Center at Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, at the North Shore/LIJ Health System.

Prior to these positions, he was the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at The Weill Cornell Medical College for 10 years and the Pediatric Cardiology Chief at North Shore University Hospital for 10 years, early in his career. He later returned to that position in 1999. Additionally, Dr. Rubin Cooper held the position of Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Komansky Children's Hospital in New York Presbyterian Hospital, Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Weill Cornell Medical College, Adjunct Professor at the Columbia School of Surgeons and Physicians and occupied the Starr-Starlight Foundation Chair in Pediatric Cardiology while at Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Cooper has been recognized with the honor of being a Castle Connolly America's Top Doctor (2004-2008 and 2010-2015) and Castle Connolly Top Doctors: New York Metro Area (1999-2008 and (2010-2015). Dr. Rubin Cooper had appointments at Cornell University Medical College, New York, and was a David Wallace-Starr Foundation Professor of Clinical Pediatric Cardiology and Weill Medical College of Cornell University (formerly Cornell University Medical College, New York) from 1990 to 1999. He currently is Professor of Pediatrics at Hofstra- NSLIJ School of Medicine.

In addition to the honors he has received, Dr. Cooper is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Sub-Board of Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Rubin Cooper has contributed to over 60 medical publications. He is a Fellow of the America Academy of Pediatrics, The American College of Cardiology, and American Heart Association.

Dr. Cooper devotes unlimited time, expertise and skill to the care of children, the enrichment of education, science and technology and the promotion of preventative care and excellent medical health.
