Dr. Zvi Yaniv, Nano-Proprietary Receive Awards for Excellence in Innovation and Technology

AUSTIN, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 8, 2005 -- Nano-Proprietary, Inc. (OTC BB: NNPP) and Dr. Zvi Yaniv, CEO of Applied Nanotech, Inc. (ANI), have been named winners in the first annual Nanotech Briefs' Nano 50 Awards for technology and innovation. Nanotech Briefs considers the winners of the Nano 50 awards the "best of the best" -- the innovative people and designs that will move nanotechnology to key mainstream markets.

In recognizing the top 50 technologies, products, and innovators that have significantly impacted, or are expected to impact, the state of the art in nanotechnology, Nanotech Briefs, the new digital publication from the publishers of NASA Tech Briefs, has recognized Nano-Proprietary for its work in carbon nanotube field emission displays and Dr. Zvi Yaniv as one of the top 50 innovators.

Through Applied Nanotech, Nano-Proprietary has an extensive intellectual property portfolio in the field of nanotechnology, including multiple fundamental claims for carbon nanotubes field emissions cathodes, which enables the company to further control critical components of nanotechnology, and advance its commercial vision of the technology. Most recently the company announced that it has completed a proof of concept of a high resolution, full color, 25-inch diagonal carbon nanotube (CNT) TV (280 x 200 color lines or pixels).

Dr. Yaniv, an authority in electro-optics, liquid crystal technology, amorphous semiconductors, technology commercialization and business management, has published over 100 articles, holds more than 100 patents, and has extensive contacts in the U.S., Europe, Israel and the Far East. Dr. Yaniv was a founder of Kent Display Systems in Kent, OH, the "no-power" reflective LCD Company, and of OIS Optical Imaging Systems, Inc. in Novi, MI. As President and CEO of OIS, he led the company during its years of development and initial commercialization of advanced active matrix liquid crystal displays and amorphous silicon image sensors. While at OIS, Dr. Yaniv was one of the founders of Unipac, currently one of the premier display companies in Taiwan.

Nano 50 nominations were judged by a panel of nanotechnology experts. The technologies, products, and innovators receiving the 50 highest scores were named Nano 50 award winners. Nanotech Briefs will celebrate the awardees at the Nano 50 Awards Dinner at Nano 2005, November 11-12, 2005, at the Boston Marriott Newton.
