Dream Big Toy Company Continues to Dream Big With New Go! Go! Sports Girl Book Series

Funding Campaign Launched With Indiegogo International Women's Day Program

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Mar 21, 2014) - Go! Go! Sports Girls, the award-winning plush, sports-themed dolls created by Dream Big Toy Company, will offer something new for girls in 2014: the opportunity to "Read & Play," with the introduction of six different doll and book sets. The new books offer a fictional story based on each doll, accompanied by fun facts about the doll's favorite sport.

The Read & Play sets, with books written by Kara Douglass Thom and illustrated by Pamela Seatter, include:

Soccer Girl Cassie's Story: Teamwork is the Goal
Swimmer Girl Suzi's Story: Winning Strokes
Runner Girl Ella's Story: Family Fun Run
Gymnastics Girl Maya's Story: Becoming Brave
Dancer Girl M.C.'s Story: One Step at a Time
Cheerleader Girl Roxy's Story: Leading the Way

In anticipation of the May 2014 launch, Dream Big Toy Company has put in motion a marketing campaign with Indiegogo in partnership with their International Women's Day Program, a program amplifying opportunities for women. Unique perks are given for each level of donation, including signed books, dolls, even naming rights to a character in a forthcoming book. If funding is raised by the April 4 deadline it will support public relations, marketing and branding costs before and during the launch.

"When you have Barbie appearing in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and Hello Kitty teaming up with Playboy, you know something has gone terribly wrong with girls' toys," says Dream Big Toy Company Founder and CEO, Jodi Bondi Norgaard. "With funding from the Indiegogo campaign the Go! Go! Sports Girls can stand out and catch the attention of parents and kids looking for a better choice."

In 2009 Dream Big Toy Company created the Go! Go! Sports Girls after recognizing a need for a doll that was age appropriate, proportioned properly, projected a positive image, and delivered a healthy message. The plush, sports-themed dolls are designed to promote self-appreciation, the benefits of daily exercise, smart eating and sleeping habits, self-esteem, and, overall healthy life-skills for girls. Go! Go! Sports Girls has been recognized as a top toy by the Oppenheim Toy Award, Dr. Toy Award and Parents magazine. While Go! Go! Sports Girl dolls are currently sold at retailers nationwide and online, the books and Read & Play sets will be available in May 2014. Learn more at www.gogosportsgirls.com.
