Dreamfields "Hearts" National Pasta Month by Dishing Up a New Recipe Every Day

31 Bloggers Share Their Favorite Pasta Recipes as Part of #IHeartDreamfields Month

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - Oct 1, 2014) - October is National Pasta Month and Dreamfields is inviting everyone to join in its virtual celebration. Just follow the hashtag, #IHeartDreamfields, for a direct connection to a month of the best pasta recipes this season.

Starting today and running through Halloween, Dreamfields will share new pasta recipes from prominent food bloggers via its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Pinterest accounts. That's a total of 31 unique recipes to please the palate of every pasta lover at the table. Each week, recipes will focus on different themes, including: Casual Entertaining, Vegetarian Entrees, Table for Two, and Stovetop Saviors. And each day of the week will feature one of the seven popular shapes of Dreamfields pasta -- spaghetti, linguine, angel hair, rotini, penne rigate, elbows and lasagna. Pasta fanatics are encouraged to follow the link to each blogger's post to get the recipe as well as a chance to win a free family pack of Dreamfields pasta and a $25 gift card. Dreamfields makes any pasta dish better thanks to its delectable taste and added nutritional benefits. Buffalo Chicken Pizza Mac & Cheese
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
1   box Dreamfields Elbows
2   pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, chopped
2   tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2   teaspoons garlic powder
1   teaspoon onion powder
1/2   cup low-sodium Buffalo Sauce
3   tablespoons butter
1   tablespoon flour
1-1/2   cups whole milk
1/2   cup heavy cream
8   ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
    Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2   cup fat-free ranch dressing
3   tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • Prepare elbow pasta according to package instructions.

  • While water for pasta is coming to a boil, begin preparing chicken. Sauté chicken in the olive oil, garlic and onion powders until cooked through and golden, about 6-8 minutes. Once cooked, add 1/2 cup of Buffalo Sauce. Keep over low heat, stirring occasionally.

  • In a separate pot, melt butter over medium low heat. When melted, whisk in flour. Whisk constantly for one minute. Slowly add milk and cream, and continue to whisk. Increase to medium heat and bring to a boil. When boiling, reduce heat to low and add cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm until pasta is cooked.

  • When elbows are ready, drain and return to pot. Add cheese sauce, ranch dressing, remaining Buffalo Sauce and chicken. Stir until well combined. Top with cilantro and additional cheese, if desired.
