Dress for Success Toronto Announces New Executive Director


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 18, 2011) - The board of directors of Dress for Success Toronto, a registered Canadian Charity ("DfS Toronto" or the "Charity"), today announced that Sheila Debly-Magnus will take over the position of Executive Director from outgoing incumbent and founder, Jessica Roelink, effective today's date.

Having served as executive director at Dress for Success Toronto for over a decade, Ms. Roelink's has given DfS Toronto the capability to provide professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to over 8,000 disadvantaged women in the Greater Toronto Area. Ms. Roelink, who will stay on until the end of April, felt the time was right for her to start a new charitable endeavour over seas.

"Founding and operating our Charity has been challenging, exciting and the most rewarding experience of my life. Throughout my tenure my inspiration and energy has been replenished by the very people we aim to help and the devoted volunteer team who run our programs. This experience has brought more to my life than I can ever give back," said Jessica Roelink. "As DfS Toronto enters this new phase of growth, I feel that it's time for a new leader to see it through. Sheila brings great passion and experience to both Dress for Success Toronto and the community and I'm thrilled she has accepted the position."

Ms. Debly-Magnus was selected for her extensive experience in human services and nonprofit administration, as well as her passion for program and volunteer development. Sheila has ten years working in, and for, organizations that make remarkable contributions to our society.

Ms. Debly-Magnus most recently served as Director, Field Operations & Chapter Development for Breakfast for Learning where she oversaw the national granting cycle and volunteer development of the organization, while working with major corporate donors. In other positions she has managed the largest volunteer chapter in Canada, consisting of over 500 volunteers and has developed and implemented an Education Symposium in Toronto which grew into a national program. She has also served on a variety of volunteer committees and associations including positions as Chair and as Treasurer of Executive Committees.
