Dress for Success Toronto Announces Sponsorship Slate and Kick-off of 2011 Bay Street Suit Challenge

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 16, 2011) - Dress for Success Toronto ("DfS Toronto") is pleased to announce the kick-off of its 2011 signature Bay Street Suit Challenge ("BSSC"). Providing business appropriate attire to under privileged Canadians is a vital first-step in a journey toward self-sufficiency.

The Bay Street Suit Challenge kicks off today, Monday, May 16th with a breakfast hosted by Title Sponsor, KPMG, and runs through Friday, June 3rd. The challenge calls upon Greater Toronto Area ("GTA") professionals to see who can collect and donate the most pieces of new or nearly new professional clothing and accessories. The BSSC focuses on urgently needed items: high quality suits, shirts, unopened hosiery, costume jewellery, new bath and hair care products, cosmetics, belts, shoes and purses. All of these items contribute to our clients' self-esteem and confidence to enter the workplace.

Dress for Success Toronto is also delighted to announce the following generous sponsors of the Bay Street Suit Challenge and thank them for helping make this event such a success: Manulife Financial, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Canada, RBC Global Asset Management, CIBC, TD Commercial Banking, TD Securities Inc., BMO Capital Markets, Desjardins Capital Markets, Direct Energy, Gowlings, McCarthy Tetrault, MDC Partners, Miller Thomson, Stifel Nicolaus Weisel, Mercer, and Vlaad and Company.

Other companies lending their support to the Bay Street Suit Challenge include Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC), Invesco Trimark, Kinross Gold Corporation, Logit Group, Mackie Research Capital Corporation, Northstar Research Partners, Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, RBC Capital Markets, Sarah Collins Image Consulting, Scotiabank, and Veritas Canada.

Champions in large, medium and small businesses categories will be crowned on Wednesday, June 16th at a closing party to be held at KPMG's Toronto office.

"While outfitting one person with a suit can help make a difference in the lives of many, we are also proud to provide clients a network of support and career development tools," said Sheila Debly-Magnus, Executive Director of Dress for Success Toronto. "Through our Career Center we offer career guidance, technology skills and support in their job searches, and our Professional Woman's Group ("PWG") provides our network of employed Dress for Success women the partnership of ongoing support and practical information, from understanding corporate culture to handling personal finances. When one person succeeds, it feeds families, inspires others, and strengthens communities. We make it possible for our clients to walk proud to their interview. We help them find their voice."
