"According to the American Cancer Society's latest statistics, over 560,000 people in the United States died from cancer in 2009. The disease affects so many people in our country. We hope that our effort this year will help bring awareness about the disease and the sales of our Hope Bracelet will assist the Society with its research to help find a cure."

In 2009, more than 270 dressbarn and maurices  teams, comprised of customers, executives and store associates, participated in Relay For Life events and raised over $710,000 through team fundraising, in-store promotions and the dressbarn inc Foundation donation. To date, dressbarn inc has given over $6.5 million dollars to the American Cancer Society to support local and national cancer initiatives.

"It has really been great working so closely with the American Cancer Society for seven years. We plan on continuing our support for years to come," said dressbarn inc President and CEO David R. Jaffe. "We believe we will exceed 2009's turnout in community member support and dollars donated to the society through the sales of our Hope Bracelet and through the dressbarn and maurices locations participating in this year's events."
