Drew Fagan Appointed to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Tourism Commission

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 28, 2009) - The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), today announced the appointment of Drew Fagan to the Board of Directors of the CTC.

"I welcome Mr. Fagan to the CTC, and I look forward to him supporting the growth of Canada's tourism industry," said Minister Clement. "His current position as Ontario's Deputy Minister of Tourism will contribute to a complementary vision that he will bring to the Board of Directors over the next four years."

Prior to joining the Ontario Public Service, Mr. Fagan worked in the federal government as Assistant Deputy Minister (Strategic Policy and Planning) at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

Before joining the federal government, Mr. Fagan held many senior positions at The Globe and Mail, including parliamentary bureau chief, editorial page editor and columnist, and Washington correspondent.

Mr. Fagan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario.
