Drilling to Commence on Monster Copper's Mustang Lake Uranium Property, Labrador

RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 5, 2005) - Monster Copper Corporation ("Monster Copper") (TSX VENTURE:MNS) is pleased to announce that drilling is to commence shortly on its Mustang Lake Property. Monster Copper's 100% owned Bruce River and Mustang Lake properties, which collectively cover 28,675 hectares and are located in the Central Mineral Belt of Labrador, are under option to Santoy Resources Ltd ("Santoy") (TSX VENTURE:SAN). The Mustang Lake property is located 8 km NE of the Michelin uranium deposit, where a historic resource ((i) see footnote) of 6.4 million tonnes of 0.13% U3O8 (18.3 million lbs. of uranium) has
been identified.

Monster Copper has been advised by Santoy that drilling is aimed at testing two targets, which are the Irving zone and South Prospect zone, where recent work has focussed on locating the bedrock source of glacially transported mineralized boulders containing high grade uranium. Historical work by Brinex in 1979, indicated that the boulders average 1.28% U3O8 in the Irving zone (117 boulders; range 0.09 to 6.25% U3O8) and 0.55% U3O8 in the South Prospect (40 boulders; range 0.02 to 3.5% U3O8).

South Prospect

Recent mapping located an outcrop, which is interpreted to be close to the source of the glacially transported boulder train on the South Prospect. The outcrop contains a narrow, radioactive biotite - magnetite rich shear zone. Assays are pending for sampling from this outcropping zone.

Irving Zone

Recent fieldwork has led to the conclusion that previous drilling by Brinex was located within the boulder train. The possible location for the head of this boulder train has been constrained to within 500 m in an up-ice direction.

A common feature of the uranium-mineralized boulders found in recent fieldwork completed by Santoy on both the Irving and South Prospect zones is that the mineralized boulders are magnetic. Using this observation, ground magnetic surveys are due to be completed shortly on both zones to better constrain the drill targets.
