DriveScale Expands into Asia to Support Growing Demand for Software Composable Infrastructure

Banman's experience in expanding into Asia stems from his time at Sun Microsystems, where he was based in Japan for five years as President of Nihon-Sun, growing Sun's business in the region.

DriveScale emerged from a three-year stealth development effort in May 2016 with an $18 million funding round led by Pelion Venture Partners with participation from Nautilus Venture Partners and Ingrasys, a subsidiary of Chinese electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn. Ingrasys also entered into a supplier partnership agreement with DriveScale in 2016. Connie Sheng, Founding Managing Director at Nautilus Venture Partners, joined DriveScale's Board of Directors as one of the first outside members in 2016.
