Dryer Vent Wizard Attracts New Franchisees From East to West Coasts

DETROIT, MI--(Marketwired - Jan 21, 2014) - Celebrating its 10 year anniversary as a franchise company, Dryer Vent Wizard (DVW) has placed among Entrepreneur's Magazine's Franchise 500 companies for three consecutive years. Specializing in dryer vent repair, replacement, alteration, cleaning and maintenance for residential and commercial clients, the Michigan-based company acquired its first Canadian franchisee in 2013 and recently announced four additional new franchisees opening from Florida to California.

"Our franchisees have very diverse backgrounds which adds to the strength of our organization," said Terry Reuer, CEO of DVW. "The common denominator is their commitment to a high level of customer service and education about dryer vent maintenance and fire prevention."

Husband and wife team Quintin and Phyllis Gibson from St. Augustine, Fla. recently started servicing the St. Augustine, Palm Coast and Jacksonville areas. The couple previously held positions in inventory and production management in the food industry but were looking for a hands-on opportunity when they discovered DVW.

"I like the idea of getting out and meeting people on a daily basis," said Quintin Gibson.

Jeff Allen researched a variety of different franchise opportunities before leaving his career as a 23-year Army officer.

"DVW gives me the best balance of personal freedom and financial reward," said Allen, who services customers in and around Nashville and Clarksville, Tenn. "As a Soldier, I was committed to defending the Nation; as a member of the Dryer Vent Wizard team, I can serve the people of middle Tennessee by helping to prevent household fires and enable families to reduce energy costs by making their clothes dryers run more efficiently."

In Michigan, new franchisee Alan Walker will soon begin servicing customers from Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo and westward to the Lake Michigan shore.

A former food service director for two school districts, Dryer Vent Wizard is Walker's first venture as an entrepreneur.

"My parents owned a hardware store, and my wife has had her own business as a physician consultant for several years, so I've received a lot of support to start my own business," said Walker. "I previously managed 30 staff, and now I have the opportunity to work hands-on which I've always enjoyed."

On the West Coast, Carla Bryan and her husband Richard Touchette, recently invested in DVW's franchise area that services San Francisco and the Peninsula.

Bryan, who previously worked in data analysis, took a variety of skills and personality tests that revealed a strong affinity for construction.

"I was surprised, but it made sense because I come from a family that's engineering-oriented," said Bryan, who enjoys working with her hands and repairing things.

For Bryan's husband, the attraction to Dryer Vent Wizard was almost immediate. "Right from the beginning, when we interviewed other franchisees, I knew these were guys you could hang out with," said Touchette. "It's evident they are all people who sincerely like each other and enjoy working together."

These newest franchisees bring DVW's total number of franchise owners to 70, serving more than 9,000 communities of all sizes throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Dryer Vent Wizard is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
