DualDraw Collaborates With Smiths Detection to Market Advanced Suite of Mail Screening Products

Integrated System Helps Protect Mail Center Personnel From Breathing Suspicious White Powders While Warning of Explosives or Chemicals in the Mail Stream

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - May 19, 2008) - DualDraw, LLC and Smiths Detection announced today that the two companies have agreed to market an advanced suite of mail security solutions. The initial product will be a mail screening system that integrates DualDraw's downdraft air filtration tables and booths with Smiths Detection's state-of-the-art hand-held chemical and explosives trace detectors.

This advanced mail screening platform, marketed as AirCHX, uses DualDraw's patented symmetrical airflow and HEPA filtration design combined with Smiths Detection's hand-held Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) trace detection equipment. The system helps protect breathing zones through negative air-pressure downdraft and provides an audible and visual warning if explosives or toxic chemicals are detected. A wide range of solutions will be available to customers, varying in price from $4,000 to $45,000.

"We're very pleased to be working with a recognized industry leader like Smiths Detection on this important safety and security issue. Chemical, biological, and explosive substances sent through the mail system are a significant threat to the nine million Americans working in the mail industry," said Dan Prather, Senior Vice President of DualDraw.

The DualDraw AirCHX mail inspection platform will incorporate one of the following Smiths Detection hand-held detection units: SABRE FR, SABRE 4000 or HGVI. Air will be continuously transferred from the platform to the detection instrument for analysis. Additionally, the detection instrument can be quickly removed to more closely inspect suspicious packages for explosives, narcotics or dangerous chemical agents.

Cherif Rizkalla, President of Smiths Detection, Americas, said, "As a leading supplier of trace detection equipment around the world, it is exciting to find new synergies that can be achieved through partnerships, as in this case with DualDraw. We look forward to offering mail handlers a practical solution that will increase the security of their work environment."

The first deployments of the new integrated units were to several government agencies including: the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, a U.S. Air Force base, the State of Colorado, and the California Administrative Office of the Courts.

Expanded Mailroom Screening Product Suite Under Development

In addition to the current products available, DualDraw and Smiths Detection are jointly developing an expanded suite of advanced mail screening solutions that when complete, will provide mail handlers with protection and detection capabilities for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives (CBRNE) threats.

Product Demonstration at the National Postal Forum - Anaheim, CA

The DualDraw and Smiths integrated mailroom inspection table will be featured and demonstrated May 18-21 at the 2008 National Postal Forum in Anaheim, California, booth number 1222.
