Dublin Restaurant Serves Up The Shelbourne Supper

Enjoy a Decadent 3-Course Meal at The Shelbourne Dublin, A Renaissance Hotel

DUBLIN, IRELAND--(Marketwired - Aug 14, 2013) -  The legendary Lord Mayor's Lounge at The Shelbourne Dublin, A Renaissance Hotel is known for its role in the inauguration of Dublin's Lord Mayors, who stroll from the Mansion House (the residence of the Lord Mayor) to this Dublin city centre hotel to enjoy refreshments in the lounge.

The Lord Mayor's Lounge might be a favorite amongst celebrities, but they're not the only ones who get the VIP treatment. Guests and Dublin locals come here to indulge in fine dining, including the delightful Afternoon Tea, and now they can sit down to a traditional dinner with The Shelbourne Supper.

This three-course meal, presented in glass dishes on a wooden board, features this Dublin restaurant's signature dishes, from steak and seafood to fresh salads and decadent desserts. A newly expanded wine list and creative cocktails help round out the meal.

The Shelbourne Supper, available nightly from 6:30 to 9.30pm, can be an hours-long affair, as guests linger over good food and fine wine. But those in a rush don't need to miss out on this opportunity; the meal can be served quickly for those who are dining pre-theater, pre-meeting or even post-flight.

Menu items are all less than EUR 30 and include starters such as house-smoked salmon with honey mustard salad, chicken liver parfait with toasted brioche and Saddle Room chowder. Entrees include options such as filet mignon with Béarnaise and crispy onion ring, Thai-style chicken curry and green pea risotto scented with truffle. Dessert is not to be missed, and includes vanilla panna cotta with fruit compote, chocolate and raspberry mousse; passion fruit and mango delice with strawberry mint dressing and profiteroles with vanilla cream and chocolate sauce.

The Shelbourne Supper is hosted Francois Ruffet, manager of The Lord Mayor's Lounge, and includes live music from the in-house pianist, who adds to the elegant ambience with masterpieces from Chopin, Ravel and Debussy.
