Dunlop Announces Its European Social Media Campaign and Invites Consumers to Share Memorable #gotagrip and #getagrip Moments

Do Europeans have things under control (#gotagrip) or are they losing it (#getagrip)?

As winter looms, many Europeans prepare for colder days. Yet, many still don't see the benefit of mounting winter tires on their vehicles. With the pan-European social media campaign #gotagrip/#getagrip, Dunlop is looking to remind people of the importance of grip in an unconventional manner.

"Every day, we face new challenges that often require commitment, resilience and pushing ourselves to the limit. Sometimes we keep control; sometimes we lose it," said Andrea Tomovici Nolf, Brand Manager, Dunlop EMEA. "A very human reality! With this campaign, Dunlop is encouraging people to share inspiring moments in which they have proven to have a good grip on the situation or alternatively, humorous moments that makes you think: 'hey, get a grip.' Because there is nothing wrong with making mistakes -- the key is to harness those moments and arm you with lessons for the future."

To inspire people, Dunlop will publish on its Facebook page instances of awesome grip or examples in which people could have done with more of it, based on real-time events. "Through a bit of inspiration and fun, we want to remind ourselves how important it is to be able to keep hold of a situation," says Andrea Tomovici Nolf, Brand Manager, Dunlop EMEA.

The campaign will be rolled out in four European markets (Belgium, France, Germany and The Netherlands). Officially announced today, the campaign will run until November 29th. To enter the competition, people need to share their image alongside the hashtag #getagrip or #gotagrip on the campaign's website via gotagrip.dunlop.eu. All entries will be placed on the campaign's website and the most inspiring submission will be rewarded with exciting prizes2.
