WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - Jun 22, 2011) - The Courtyard Washington, DC/Dupont Circle hotel is announcing plans to "refresh" the hotel's lobby for a more enjoyable and productive lodging experience.

Beginning July 8, 2011, this distinctive Courtyard by Marriott, a relaxing choice among hotels near the National Mall, is set to undergo a $1.3 million renovation of its hotel lobby, adopting the Courtyard's Refreshing Business lobby concept which caters to the tech savvy, well-traveled business guest.

Described by Courtyard guests across the country as "upscale" and "innovative," this new hotel lobby concept has been implemented in over 100 hotels across the country, with nearly 300 to be completed by the end of the year. In joining that number, renovation of this Dupont Circle Washington, DC hotel's lobby is expected to be completed by September 30, 2011.

The new hotel lobby comes after an extensive $6.5 million refurbishment of other hotel areas that included the installation of floor-to-ceiling windows for panoramic views of Washington, DC off of Connecticut Avenue. After completion of this latest renovation, guests of the Connecticut Avenue hotel will find a calm and functional lobby environment that includes up-to-date technology that is laptop friendly along with the Courtyard's exclusive and highly interactive GoBoard®, a 55-inch LCD touch screen that offers local information about restaurants and attractions, weather forecasts, news, business and sports headlines.

Vivid, contrasting colors of blue, green, orange and red will be featured in the artistic details and new contemporary décor. The lobby will also include a redesign for eating and socializing as the Courtyard embraces The Bistro - Eat. Drink. Connect.® concept and offers a centralized gathering place for healthy dining options, business networking and relaxing. Fresh brewed Starbucks coffee will also be available along with refreshing evening cocktails, wine and beer selections.
