TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 29, 2005) - George A. Brown, President and CEO of Duran Ventures Inc. (NEX:DRV.H) ("Duran"), wishes to update the market on Company activities at the Black Mountain Gold Mine Project in China which was acquired as per our May 31, 2005 news release 2005-02.

In July 2005, our Vice President, David Bending P.Geo. and a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101, traveled to China to direct and supervise a work program by our Manager of Exploration for Asia, Dr. Hongzhi Li, Ph.D. The Company reports that from July to September 2005, it has completed an initial phase of mapping and sampling at the Black Mountain Project. A total of 64 surface samples were taken on a 100 by 100 metre grid over the entire property as covered by the existing mining license. Underground sampling consisted of representative panel sampling of various underground workings and veins on several levels. A total of 34 samples were taken on 3 levels from workings accessible from Shaft 1 and a total of 50 samples were taken on 4 levels from workings accessible from Shaft 2. All 148 samples will be assayed by ALS Chemex of Mississauga, Ontario. Results will be announced after they have been reported to the Company and interpreted.

The Company also completed a study of the local geology, a surface survey, an underground survey, and an examination of several prospective gold and silver mines in the area.
