LONDON--(Marketwire - Sep 5, 2012) - Xirrus®, the leader in high-performance wireless networking, has today announced it has deployed a high-density 802.11n wireless network for Durham County Cricket Club (Durham CCC) at the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground. The ground will be home to The Ashes in 2013 and is also a popular venue for conferencing and events. Upgrading its wireless capabilities ensures the venue can cater for high capacity events, as well as provide journalists access to high-performance Wi-Fi for rich media file transfers during match games.
Hosting some of the world's most watched cricket matches, Durham CCC can have more than 100 international and local press and photographers on the grounds at any time, all wanting to transmit bandwidth-intensive images over the wireless network.
