The Dutch Cable SIP Exchange Project, XConnect Global Networks and Nokia Siemens Networks Successfully Test Intelligent Network (C7) and ENUM Integration in Cable Telephony Peering Project

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS--(Marketwire - August 6, 2008) - The Dutch Cable SIP Exchange project (SIPX), an initiative of the Dutch cable industry, successfully tested interoperability between its peering system, which is provided by XConnect Global Networks, Ltd., and the Nokia Siemens Networks hiQ VoIP platform used in many of its participant networks.

The SIPX is the world's first cable telephony peering federation project, and is developed by XConnect Global Networks, Ltd. and Kayote Networks. The SIPX will provide its members with an all IP interconnect so that calls from one network to another by-pass the PSTN and associated toll charges. An additional benefit to maintaining an uninterrupted IP path is the ability for the participating cable telephony providers to offer hi-fidelity codecs and video telephony on a cross-network basis.

The tests proved that the SIPX can be connected to existing C7 IN based hiQ platforms for full interconnection to voice services provided by SIPX members. The tested solution provides ENUM based routing and IP interconnectivity to the SIPX members with a fallback to traditional (C7 IN) based routing.

During the testing successful integration was proven between the ENUM directory services provided by XConnect within the Nokia Siemens Networks environment.

"We are delighted that with this successful integration with Nokia Siemens Networks hiQ platform, peering federations like the SIPX are possible in large telecom environments," said Sikko de Graaf, Director of CAIW. "For the first time it is proven that hybrid implementations of ENUM and IN interconnection can work perfectly together within a peering federation. It will have a great impact on the VoIP peering industry."

"We are pleased that SIPX testing proved that the hiQ systems, which are part of our Consumer and Business VoIP solution, worked seamlessly together with the XConnect ENUM peering federation setup of SIPX as well as providing the fallback mechanism to C7," commented Marcel Legtenberg, Account manager of Nokia Siemens Networks.

"We are delighted on the successful milestone of achieving integration of the XConnect powered SIPX ENUM Registry with the Nokia Siemens Networks hiQ switches' ENUM query and C7 IN features," said Eli Katz, Founder and CEO of XConnect.
