Dutchess County, N.Y. Licenses Modern Public Safety Technology From New World Systems

TROY, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 14, 2005 -- New World Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced that Dutchess County, N.Y., signed a contract valued at approximately $1.7 million for its Microsoft Windows®-based Aegis®/MSP Public Safety software and services.

A New World Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) customer since 1989, Dutchess County chose to migrate from the IBM® 400 platform to the Microsoft Windows platform. Not only did the County license CAD, but also chose New World's Records, Corrections, Mobile Computing and New World's justice information sharing solution Aegis Justice Link.

"The County looked at other public safety vendors to ensure we were getting the system we needed," said OCIS Commissioner Tim Mahler, Dutchess County. "Upon the completion of our research, we chose to partner with New World for this important project.

"We have a good relationship with New World," said Mahler. "Most important is the Company's willingness to integrate with other systems we use and make enhancements to the product that will improve public safety processes not only for us but their customer base. We also like where the product is going -- using the latest Microsoft technology and getting customer feedback to help enhance the software."

New World's Aegis/MSP solution has evolved over the past 20-plus years to ensure today's public safety needs are met. For example, the system provides real-time access to all pertinent information on a person in a single window, such as any priors, mug shot, and all other information gathered on an individual, which is accessible to other departments and users with authorization.

Sharing database information with other agencies is critical when protecting citizens and officers. Aegis Justice Link allows authorized users to search multiple databases for suspect names, vehicles, confiscated property, criminal MOs, etc., helping solve more crimes. Dispatchers also have access to information, such as potentially hazardous situations, to provide to officers in the field and increase safety.

"All of the involved county agencies are excited about the benefits of the new integrated system, from functionality and ease of use to the new tools that New World's Aegis/MSP products will provide," said Mahler.

New World will provide modern technology to nearly 500 county criminal justice and safety personnel that will help enhance service to 290,000 citizens in the County.
