Dynapower Expands Energy Storage Capacity at Headquarters Micro-Grid by Adding 375 kW/250 kWh of Microvast Batteries

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT--(Marketwired - Apr 21, 2015) - Dynapower Company, the global leader in energy storage inverters, announced that it has expanded the capacity and performance of the micro-grid system at its company headquarters here, by adding 375 kW/250 kWh of lithium-titanate batteries manufactured by Microvast Power Solutions.

The Dynapower HQ micro-grid, which also includes 100 kW of photovoltaic (PV) systems, 100 kW of wind power, and 750 kW of additional battery storage capacity, provides local load support and demonstrates how Dynapower energy storage inverters can deliver efficient micro-grid power conversion.

"Our micro-grid showcase is a fully operational system that lets customers learn about Dynapower's industry-leading line of inverters, while demonstrating on-site load support, grid resilience and renewable energy integration," said Adam Knudsen, Dynapower President. "Microvast is a recognized leader in lithium-titanate batteries, which have been field-proven in electric bus applications. We look forward to working with their technology in our micro-grid."

"This project will provide ancillary services to the local power grid, as well as demonstrate our battery technology's ability to smooth intermittent wind power and mitigate rapid power drops from the solar array during cloud passing events," said Michael Hanratty, Commercial Director for Microvast. "Dynapower brings a wealth of experience in grid-connected energy storage and micro-grid operations, and we're pleased to be working with them."

About Dynapower Energy Storage Inverters
Dynapower's four-quadrant bi-directional energy storage inverter systems utilize advanced digital controllers for management of real and reactive power, system monitoring, and protection. The company's MPS, CPS and PowerSkid™ product lines are IEEE and UL1741 compliant; offer sub-cycle response with zero voltage ride-through; and can be can be operated in both grid-tied or stand-alone (grid forming) modes. All systems are modular, enabling smooth expansion and integration of additional conversion capacity when needed. Dynapower inverters are deployed globally as grid-tied energy storage inverters and as micro-grid inverters, enabling increased penetration of renewable generation resources.

About Microvast
Microvast was founded in 2006, with headquarters in Stafford, Texas, to develop and deliver rapid-charge batteries for electric vehicles. The company has over 30 MWh of batteries in operation on the streets of Europe and Asia in electric vehicle (EV) applications. In 2012, Microvast expanded its business to serve grid energy storage applications. The company partners with electric power transformer, switchgear, and power conversion equipment manufacturers to deliver complete AC power solutions. Microvast provides systems engineering, cycle loading analysis, project commissioning, remote system monitoring, and long-term field service support for grid energy storage projects. Microvast's manufacturing operations are centered in Huzhou Zhejiang, China.
