E! and YouTube Love "Cybersmack"

Partnership With YouTube Boosts Launch of Broadband Channel, While $25,000 Prize Sets Consumer Video Contest in Motion; Hit Segment From "The Soup" Spawns E! Online Video Franchise

LOS ANGELES and SAN MATEO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 28, 2006 -- What is "Cybersmack?" "Cybersmack" is the funniest, most outrageous home grown video inspired by, satirizing, and/or lampooning pop culture. Since premiering as a segment in E!'s hit series "The Soup," "Cybersmack" has become a favorite of E! viewers, and now the network will expand the franchise with a dedicated broadband channel on The Vine @ E! Online, a unique partnership with Internet video entertainment leader YouTube, and a consumer sweepstakes offering a $25,000 prize for the best "Cybersmacker."

On the "Cybersmack" broadband channel, consumers can view the Web's most varied and exciting new videos about the world of entertainment and pop culture at its new Web home on The Vine @ E! Online. In addition, an ongoing partnership with YouTube will direct members to the new broadband channel on The Vine, as well as provide the opportunity for YouTube users to view "Cybersmack" clips and upload their own video content. As the Web's most popular video site, with the community watching over 30 million videos per day, YouTube will introduce "Cybersmacking" to a whole new audience. Specifically with a link to The Vine @ E! Online, homepage placement on www.youtube.com, and hosting of clips from "Cybersmack" and other E! programming, the partnership provides unprecedented support for the new E! Online destination.

"E! continues to bring viewers and Web surfers the most comprehensive look possible at entertainment and pop culture," said E! Networks' President & CEO Ted Harbert. "The expansion of 'Cybersmack' celebrates the growing online video phenomenon in a way that is uniquely E!, and YouTube is the perfect partner given their tremendous success in the space."

"We're thrilled to partner with such an innovative and progressive network as E!" said Chad Hurley, YouTube's co-founder and CEO. "Our users are passionate about watching creative short-form videos that they can easily share with their friends, family and the broader community. We see this partnership as a sort of 'mash-up' between the E! Television viewing audience and the YouTube community -- bringing the two together to promote compelling TV shows through entertaining short clips."

At E! Online, it is all about the viewer and on March 31, E! will launch a viewer-submitted video contest. The winner of the "Cybersmack" contest will receive $25,000 when the results are announced this summer. The public is invited to submit original entries which skewer or make fun of pop culture personalities, events and happenings. Joel McHale, host of "The Soup," will announce the contest on-air during the March 31 broadcast of the show. Ultimately, E! online users will vote via The Vine @ E! Online to determine the grand prize winner, whose entry will be featured on "The Soup."
