E-Commerce Health Improvement Continues Through Early Spring

April 2011 Marks the 15th Consecutive Month for Industry Gains

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - May 16, 2011) - MyBuys, the leading provider of personalization for multi-channel retailers, direct brands, and digital agencies, today released the April 2011 edition of the MyBuys E-commerce Wellness Index™. The index measures the overall health of U.S. e-commerce and tracks key trends among retailers. Total revenue for U.S. e-commerce increased 3.4% versus the same period last year and the very important metric of revenue from full-priced item sales continues to grow, increasing 19.3% during the month of April. Increases to both these key metrics helped push the index up 19% compared to the same month one year ago. Industry health improvements are also attributed to a 14% decrease in the number of orders with promoted items present.

"Many factors contribute to e-commerce's continued resurgence, including engagement strategies, like personalization, and improving economic status. The last two months have been the best consecutive months for job creation in the last five years and as such should translate into successful spring holidays for e-retail and retail alike."

The April 2011 Index also demonstrates the power of personalization as retailers saw a 12% increase in average order values for personalized transactions compared to sales without personalization.
