eSilicon's Jack Harding Re-Elected to GSA Board

First Board Member Elected to Newly-Created VCP Seat

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - April 1, 2010) -  eSilicon, a pioneering semiconductor Value Chain Producer (VCP), today announced that Jack Harding, chairman, president and CEO of eSilicon, has been elected to serve on the GSA Board as the first representative of the newly-created VCP category. This is Jack's second term on the GSA Board. eSilicon is also celebrating its 10th year anniversary as a company.

The Value Chain Producer is a company that collaborates with foundries, IP and service providers, EDA suppliers, package, assembly and test operations in designing and producing chips for fabless IC, IDM and system OEM companies. VCPs optimize the economics of customer value chains and enable customers to focus on their product differentiation and market growth. A VCP earns revenue by shipping packaged, tested products with the customers' logo.

"I am extremely pleased to be elected to this new Board position," said Jack Harding. "The VCP plays a pivotal role in bringing together the supply chain, fabless semiconductor companies (FSCs), IDMs and system OEMs to increase profitability throughout the chain. As the VCP representative on the GSA Board, I look forward to introducing programs that will lead to greater growth and profitability for customers, VCPs and the supply chain companies that are part of that eco-system."

"The GSA Board members represent the leading and most significant segments in the semiconductor market. Recognizing the important role that Value Chain Producers play in addressing the fast-changing needs and competitive challenges of the customers in today's market place, the GSA created this new Board position to represent the entire VCP eco-system," said Jodi Shelton, GSA President. "With his intimate knowledge of the customers and supply chain partners and his GSA involvement over the last three years, Jack brings a wealth of experience and drive to this Board position."

"It's great to see Jack back on the Board of GSA. He's always been very proactive and supportive of our aims, and the success of organizations like ours depend on the hard work of people like him. Congratulations, Jack!" said Aart de Geus, Synopsys CEO and Chairman.

"Congratulations to Jack Harding on his election to the GSA Board of Directors under the newly created VCP seat. The Global Semiconductor Alliance's (GSA) mission is to accelerate the growth and increase the return on invested capital (ROIC) of the global semiconductor industry by fostering a more effective fabless ecosystem through collaboration, integration and innovation. Jack shares in this mission and is committed to help GSA achieving it," said Joep Van Beurden, CEO for CSR, and Vice Chairman, GSA.

"I am pleased to serve with Jack as he begins his second term on the GSA Board," said Ken Joyce, CEO of Amkor Technology, Inc. "As a pioneer of the Value Chain Producer category and the first GSA Board member to represent this constituency, Jack contributes to a more efficient Fabless Semiconductor ecosystem by addressing challenges within the supply chain."
