Related Fundraising Drive Spearheaded by EADS North America Provides Nearly $300,000 to Army Emergency Relief and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - May 19, 2008) - A unique photographic exhibition illustrating the human drama of U.S. Soldiers and Marines in ground combat from the Civil War to the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan has opened under the sponsorship of EADS North America. In support of the opening, EADS North America also led a fundraising campaign, generating nearly $300,000 in contributions donated directly to the primary support organizations of U.S. Soldiers, Marines and their families.

This historic collection entitled "The American Soldier - A Photographic Tribute to Soldiers and Marines," assembles 116 over-sized images beginning with the introduction of photography on the battlefield and covers the nation's major military engagements from the Civil War to the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The exhibition is on display at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial, located at the gateway to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. The photographic tribute will be open to public viewing, free of charge, through Labor Day 2008.

"EADS North America is proud to sponsor this unparalleled photographic tribute to our warfighters of today and yesterday, and to have led the fundraising effort that will directly assist our Soldiers, Marines and their families in need," said Ralph D. Crosby, Jr., Chairman and CEO of EADS North America. "This moving photographic collection provides a unique and very personal glimpse into the human sacrifice and courage that typifies the American Soldier and Marine. I also extend my appreciation to all of those who supported the fundraising effort, including our donors and sponsors, along with members of the honorary and steering committees."

"The American Soldier - A Photographic Tribute to Soldiers and Marines" was officially unveiled during a formal opening and evening reception attended by congressional members, senior civilian and military leaders, government officials and over 400 invited guests and supporters of the EADS North America-sponsored fundraising effort.

Conway; Army Chief of Staff General George W. Casey, Jr.; Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Carlton W. Kent, and Sergeant Major Brent Jurgersen of the Army's Wounded Warrior program.
